It's about five miles and 15 minutes from the Strip on Boulder Highway, so it suits travellers with a car who want locals' value over a Boulevard address. Free self-parking is a given. Rates start around $45 a night.

There are upscale wall coverings, fixtures, furnishings and carpet. The artwork has been custom designed by Las Vegas artist Greg Miller and is meant to convey a nostalgic “Americana” feel. Among the amenities are a 40-inch plasma flat-screen TV, a computer desk and a built-in custom closet. The private bathroom has a combined tub/shower and a single sink with a granite countertop.
