Is Hilton Vacation Club Cancun Resort Worth It? Honest Review, Rooms & Rates
Hilton Vacation Club Cancun Resort is a non-gaming, all-suite timeshare resort at the far south end of Las Vegas Boulevard, about three miles south of the central Strip. The draw is the Mayan-themed pool complex: two outdoor pools wrapped around a pyramid, with four water slides, waterfalls and five hot tubs, plus shaded palapas — a genuine hit with families. Accommodations are condo-style one- and two-bedroom suites (and larger penthouse villas) with full kitchens, dining areas, private balconies and, in most units, an in-suite washer and dryer, which makes cooking in and doing laundry easy on a longer stay.
The trade-offs are real. It's a quiet, self-contained resort rather than a Strip hotel, so there's no casino, no nightlife to speak of and nothing walkable — you'll want a car or rideshare for the roughly three-mile trip to the central Strip, and there's no airport or Strip shuttle. A mandatory resort fee applies (it does at least include self-parking), check-out is an early 10 a.m., and the pools and hot tubs can close by early evening and get crowded with families in peak season. As a timeshare, expect the occasional invitation to an owners' presentation. On-site dining is limited to the poolside Caribe Lounge, so those full kitchens are part of the value. For families and longer stays that don't mind driving, it's a spacious, good-value base away from the crowds.
Insider tipCheck-out is an early 10 a.m. — earlier than most Strip hotels — so pack up the night before. The flip side of the far-south location is that Harry Reid airport is a shorter hop than the central Strip, making the resort an easy first or last stop on your trip.Check Rates & Availability →
