Opened in 1966, the Four Queens is a slice of vintage Las Vegas, all classic-casino character and nostalgic charm in the heart of downtown's Fremont Street Experience. It draws a crowd that appreciates the old-school feel — and the famous Hugo's Cellar, a tableside-rose, old-Vegas fine-dining institution.

Its standout feature is what it doesn't charge: there's no resort fee, a real rarity in a city where add-ons are the norm. That honesty can make a Four Queens stay genuinely cheaper than a 'budget' room elsewhere once the fees pile on.

The practical math holds up. The only real add-ons are a $100 incidental hold at check-in and $5-a-night self-parking in the five-story garage — waived if you show the free players club card at the front desk — while valet is free (gratuity appreciated). Do go in with eyes open about the setting: the hotel sits directly under the Fremont Street canopy, and the light-and-sound shows and live stages run into the small hours, so light sleepers should ask for a room facing away from Fremont Street. The mid-Strip resorts are about four miles south — roughly 15 minutes by car, or take the Deuce bus, which runs 24/7 between Downtown and the Strip. There's no pool on site, but guests get seasonal access to the rooftop pool at Binion's across the street.

Does the Four Queens have a pool?

Not its own, but guests aren't shut out: your room key gets you seasonal access to the rooftop pool on the 25th floor of Binion's, the sister casino directly across the street. It generally runs in the warm months, roughly May through September, and the elevated deck throws in one of downtown's better skyline views.

Is the Four Queens noisy at night?

It can be. The hotel sits right under the Fremont Street Experience, where the canopy light shows and live bands play late into the night, and rooms facing the pedestrian mall catch the most of it. If you're a light sleeper, ask at booking for a room facing away from Fremont Street.
