Palace Station is a remodeled locals' casino just west of the Strip, the original flagship of the Station Casinos empire. A 2018 overhaul refreshed its rooms, pool and restaurants — and with free parking, cheap rates and easy I-15 access, it's strong value.

Is Palace Station Worth It? Honest Review, Rooms & Rates

Palace Station opened in 1976 and became the flagship of the Station Casinos empire, and a major 2018 overhaul gave it a fresh resort pool plus fully updated rooms, restaurants and casino. It's a relaxed, convenient locals' resort just west of the Strip, right next to I-15 for easy driving anywhere in town.

The appeal is value: as a locals' property it typically offers better gaming odds, cheaper dining and — crucially — free self-parking, things that cost extra on the Strip. A recent dining refresh added Master Kim's Wagyu House, China Mama and Lindo Michoacán to a lineup already anchored by the 24-hour Oyster Bar, so the food punches well above the room rate. With a car, it's a smart-value base.

Insider tipWhen you book, only the two 'City View' Premier rooms sit on higher floors with an actual outlook — the standard Premier rooms don't come with one, so pay the small step-up if the view matters. And if the resort pool is part of the plan, aim for spring through fall: it was added in the 2018 remodel but runs seasonally.

How far is Palace Station from the Strip?

About two miles, a 5-to-10-minute drive. It sits on Sahara Avenue right by I-15, so it's quick to reach the Strip, downtown or the airport — but there's no shuttle, so plan on driving or ride-hailing.

Does Palace Station have free self-parking?

Yes — self-parking in the garage is free, which is a real perk since most Strip resorts now charge for it. It's free on top of the nightly resort fee, not bundled into it.

What is the resort fee at Palace Station?

$45.34 per night. It covers in-room Wi-Fi and use of the fitness center. Note it can nearly match a cheap room rate, so factor it into the true nightly cost.

What are the check-in and check-out times at Palace Station?
