Is The Orleans Worth It? Honest Review, Rooms & Rates

The Orleans captures the spirit of the Big Easy just off the Strip, with French-Quarter touches running through its restaurants, bars and live-music venues. It's a locals-favorite resort with a friendly, all-ages atmosphere and affordably priced rooms that suit families and longer stays.

What sets it apart is the on-site entertainment: a 52-lane bowling center, the 18-screen Century Orleans cinema, the 9,000-seat Orleans Arena and a steady calendar of live music in the Bourbon Street Lounge mean you barely need to leave. Self-parking is free and plentiful.

Know before you book: the resort fee comes to about $41.80 a night including tax, and the hotel's famous free Strip shuttle has been discontinued — the Strip is roughly two miles east along Tropicana Avenue, a 10-minute rideshare or an RTC bus ride away, so a car helps. Dining took some churn in the mid-2020s: TGI Fridays closed with the chain's bankruptcy and the Medley Buffet never reopened, but Alder & Birch, Big Al's Oyster Bar and the 24-hour Copper Whisk Cafe carry the load.

Insider tipAll standard rooms are the same 450 sq ft, so a Strip-view room is really just paying extra for the view — book a mountain- or pool-view room at the lower rate if the outlook doesn't matter to you. Bonus: T-Mobile Arena is only 1.25 miles away and self-parking here is free, making The Orleans a value base for a Golden Knights game or an arena concert.

How do you get from The Orleans to the Strip?

There's no longer a free hotel shuttle, so plan on driving. The Strip is roughly two miles east along Tropicana Avenue — about a 10-minute rideshare — and RTC city buses serve the corridor. A car is handy here, and parking at the hotel is free.

What are the check-in rules at The Orleans?
