Golden Nugget
The Golden Nugget is downtown Las Vegas's premier resort, blending classic Vegas glamour — a marble lobby, upscale dining — with its famous Tank pool, where a waterslide drops through a live shark aquarium. Right on Fremont Street, from $51/night.

Is the Golden Nugget Worth It? Honest Review, Rooms & Rates
The Golden Nugget is the most upscale place to stay in downtown Las Vegas, radiating a classic, polished Vegas glamour from its marble lobby to its contemporary dining. It sits right on the Fremont Street Experience, in the thick of downtown's free concerts, zip line and neon canopy.
Its signature feature is The Tank — a pool built around a 200,000-gallon shark aquarium, with a three-story waterslide that drops straight through it. Rooms span several towers at downtown-friendly prices, and you trade the Strip's location for lower rates and easy parking. Rates start around $51 a night before fees.
Worth knowing: downtown is a different scene from the Strip — grittier, more compact, more old-school — and it's about a four-mile drive south to the Strip's big resorts. The trade-offs pay off in value: free self-parking for guests, dog-friendly rooms (rare downtown), and the newest Rush Tower rooms rival Strip hotels at a fraction of the rate.
Insider tipIf the shark-tank pool is your reason to book, mind the calendar: The Tank and the adjacent Hideout dayclub are seasonal, typically open spring through early fall, so a winter stay can arrive to find them drained and closed.Check Rates & Availability →
