Backstreet Boys close the summer Sphere run August 27–29, then return for New Year's
The Into the Millennium summer run ends August 27–29 - but it is no longer the end: three New Year's shows were added for December 31 through January 2.
Updated August 26: the farewell un-farewelled itself, as predicted below. On August 10 the band added three New Year's shows at Sphere - December 31, 2026 and January 1–2, 2027 - on sale since August 21. The August 27–29 weekend is now the summer finale rather than the end of the residency.
Backstreet Boys wrap the summer leg of their Into the Millennium residency at Sphere with three shows on August 27, 28 and 29. The band added the dates back in March and billed them as the last of the summer run.
The residency has been one of Sphere's biggest successes: a 1999 album performed inside a venue that scales the nostalgia up to planetarium size, selling out weekend after weekend - 47 consecutive sold-out nights for more than 750,000 fans. That demand shapes the closing stretch. Saturday the 29th carries the biggest premium on resale, while the Thursday, August 27 date is consistently the cheapest way in - sometimes by a couple hundred dollars for comparable seats.
Buying advice is the same as for any Sphere show: face-value tickets first, resale only as a fallback. Check single seats if you're flexible, since pairs inflate faster. Our take: we wrote in the original version of this story that farewell weekends in Las Vegas have a habit of un-farewelling themselves once the math works - and eleven days later they did. Buy any Sphere date for the show itself, never for "history." If the summer finale doesn't fit, the New Year's block is the same production with a holiday premium on December 31; January 2 is the affordable way in.
