Carín León opens seven nights at Sphere on September 4, the first Spanish-language headliner in the dome

Friday, September 4, 8 p.m.: Carín León walks onto the Sphere stage as the first Latino artist to headline the venue. The run is seven shows across two weekends, September 4, 5 and 6, then September 10 through 13, every one at 8 p.m. The second weekend lines up with Las Vegas's Mexican Independence Day celebrations, which is why those dates were announced first and the Labor Day trio was added later on demand. Sphere promises "visual displays and staging never before seen in Spanish-language music": the wraparound screen doing regional Mexican music instead of the Eagles.

As of September 2 all seven dates still list tickets on sale through Ticketmaster, Sphere's official box office. Doors open 90 minutes before showtime. There is no minimum age, though anyone under 18 needs an adult with them and children two and older need their own seat. Up the Strip, Fontainebleau Las Vegas is running "Carín León Takes Over Fontainebleau" from September 1 to 14. The free parts: photo installations around the resort, a limited merchandise drop, and an El Coyote del Norte taco pop-up (his Hermosillo taquería) in the Promenade Food Hall from September 3. The ticketed parts are 21-plus: Noshes by Carín León at LIV nightclub on September 11 to 13 and La Cura Fest at LIV Beach on September 13.

The catch is the calendar. The first weekend is Labor Day, the second is Mexican Independence weekend, one of the Strip's busiest of the year, so expect hotel rates and rideshare surges to climb on both. A Sphere ticket bought last autumn for face value now sits next to secondary-market listings; compare before paying above face.

Our take: the Thursday, September 10 show is the smart buy. Same production, a thinner crowd, and you dodge the spike both holiday weekends put on everything around the concert. Treat the LIV nights as optional; the free Fontainebleau pop-ups already deliver the tie-in.
