About $1,400 to $2,200 for a mid-range couple over three nights, before flights and gambling. That works out to roughly $230 to $370 per person per day.

  • Budget: $100 to $160 per person a day, sharing a cheap room
  • Mid-range: $230 to $370
  • Luxury (Wynn or Bellagio, tasting menus, premium seats): $500 and up

A real three-night trip for two

Midweek, mid-Strip, no big event in town:

  • Room: $160 x 3 = $480
  • Resort fee: $50 x 3 = $150
  • Room tax: about $85
  • Food and coffee, casual plus one proper dinner: about $480
  • One show, two tickets: about $250
  • Getting around (rideshare plus a Monorail pass): about $120
  • Drinks and incidentals: about $150
  • Total: about $1,715, or $285 per person per day

Move the same trip to Friday through Sunday and the room alone can double.

What catches people

The extras inside the room rate: the resort fee, 13.38% tax on the room and the fee, and $20 to $25 a day to park if you drive. A "$160" room is really about $235. Carry $100 to $200 in cash per person for tips; everything else goes on a card. Gambling is its own envelope, and event weeks, dayclub cabanas and bottle service are what blow the total up.
