8.375% in Clark County, which covers the Strip, Downtown, Henderson and the airport. It is added at the register, so shelf and menu prices are before tax.

  • Restaurants and shopping: 8.375%. Groceries from a supermarket are exempt; prepared food is not.
  • Hotel rooms and resort fees: no sales tax, lodging tax instead: 13.38% on the Strip, 13% Downtown.
  • Show tickets: Nevada's 9% live entertainment tax, normally folded into the price you see. The checkout surprise is the service fee, not the tax.
  • Gambling winnings: no state tax. The federal side still applies, and a slot jackpot of $2,000 or more (the 2026 threshold) comes with tax paperwork before it is paid.

Nevada has no state income tax, which is part of why it leans so hard on the others. The rest of the add-ons you meet on a trip, from parking to the restaurant "CNF" line, are in hidden fees in Las Vegas.
