The Original Lindo Michoacán on Desert Inn Road is where the story started — January 6, 1990, twelve tables, and a family recipe book from Michoacán that grew into one of the valley's most beloved Mexican restaurant dynasties. Thirty-five years on, this east-side flagship still runs the tableside guacamole cart and the regional dishes the branch locations imitate.

The specialties read like a Michoacán syllabus: birria de chivo (goat, the house pride), carnitas braised a la Coca-Cola, pollo zarandeado, mole enchiladas, and drunken shrimp — at genuine local prices ($$ throughout), with weekday lunch specials from 11 to 4 and a Monday-Friday 2-5pm happy hour on margaritas and wells. Hours run long: 10am to past 11pm daily, from 9am weekends.

Know the trade-offs: it's a 10-15 minute drive east of the Strip, the room is proudly dated in the way family institutions earn, weekends run loud and full, and this original location books direct rather than through OpenTable (the newer branches do).
