Most visitors start at the accessible Corn Creek area, about 30 minutes from the city, where trails, spring-fed ponds and a visitor contact station offer an easy introduction. The vast backcountry beyond often requires a high-clearance vehicle, and the refuge is closed on some weekdays, so check open days and conditions before you go.
