Valley of Fire Las Vegas: Review, Tickets & What to Expect
Valley of Fire State Park earns its name: at sunrise and sunset, its Aztec sandstone formations seem to burst into flame, glowing brilliant red against the desert sky. Nevada's oldest and largest state park spans some 40,000 acres about an hour northeast of Las Vegas, threaded with scenic drives and trails to landmarks like Rainbow Vista, Fire Wave and Atlatl Rock.
Beyond the dramatic geology, the park preserves ancient petroglyphs left by Indigenous peoples thousands of years ago. A per-vehicle entrance fee applies. Visit early or late for the best light and to avoid the punishing midday heat. Check current fees online.
