Wynn closes Awakening after October 10, with a new production coming in 2027

Seven weeks of dates are left in the round at Wynn, and the theater goes to an unnamed show in 2027.

Wynn Las Vegas announced on August 21, 2026 that Awakening will play its final performance on October 10, 2026. A new production takes the theater in 2027; the resort has not named it, described a format or set an opening date. Wynn's own page now sells the remaining dates as "Final performances, now through October 10."

Awakening was Wynn's answer to Cirque, and the money went into the room rather than the plot. The 1,600-seat theater-in-the-round was built for this one title, with a floor that lifts and splits, drones working above the audience, and Anthony Hopkins narrating a fable about light returning to a dark world. It runs 80 minutes with no intermission, and nobody sits far from the stage.

Seven weeks of dates remain and tickets are still on sale. The schedule is unchanged: Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday at 6:30 and 9 p.m., Sunday at 4 and 7 p.m., dark Wednesday and Thursday. Midweek trips get exactly two usable nights, so a Wednesday-to-Friday stay in September has one shot at it. Listed seats start in the low $70s and climb steeply in peak weeks.

Stage lighting and effects during a performance of Awakening at Wynn Las Vegas
Wynn lists pyrotechnics, strobe lighting and heightened audio for the show.

Our take: Book now if the staging is the draw - a purpose-built room like this doesn't tour, and the last weekends will be the tightest and priciest of the run. Skip it if you want a story that holds together, or if pyrotechnics and strobes are a problem for you; the closing date doesn't change what the show is.
