Awakening Tickets

Awakening has permanently closed. Wynn Las Vegas gave the final performance on Saturday, October 10, 2026, about seven weeks after announcing the closure on August 21. The show opened in its purpose-built theater in 2022, went dark for a rework and came back in a retooled version, but it never filled the 1,600-seat room consistently. Wynn says a new production will take over the theater in 2027; nothing about it has been announced yet.

What it offered was staging rather than story. The theater-in-the-round wrapped every seat within a few rows of the action, the floor lifted and split, drones and projections filled the dome, and Anthony Hopkins narrated a fable about light returning to a darkened world. Spectacle fans left impressed. Theatergoers who came for plot found the fable thin under all that hardware, and the full load of strobes, pyrotechnics and theatrical smoke was a real problem for sensory-sensitive guests. Performances ran 80 minutes with no intermission, ages 5 and up.

For the same big-tech feeling, KÀ at MGM Grand is built around a moving, tilting stage, and O at Bellagio, a short walk south of Wynn, swaps the shape-shifting floor for a 1.5-million-gallon pool.
