Is Awakening Worth It? Honest Review, Tickets & Seating Tips

Awakening is Wynn's swing at out-teching Cirque: a purpose-built 1,600-seat theater-in-the-round where the floor lifts and splits, drones and projections swallow the room, and Anthony Hopkins narrates a fable about light returning to a darkened world. You sit wrapped around the stage, never more than a few rows from the action. The staging technology, not the story, is the star attraction. Wynn announced on August 21, 2026 that the show closes after its final performance on October 10, 2026, with a new production taking the theater in 2027; Wynn's own page now bills the remaining dates as “Final performances, now through October 10.”

That focus is also the honest dividing line: visitors who come for spectacle leave stunned, while story-first theatergoers find the fable thin under the hardware. It is a full sensory load - pyrotechnics, strobes, theatrical smoke and heightened audio, per Wynn's own advisory - so sensory-sensitive guests should think twice. The run is 80 minutes with no intermission, playing Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday at 6:30 and 9 p.m. and Sunday at 4 and 7 p.m., dark Wednesday and Thursday. Listed seats typically start in the mid-$80s with fees and climb steeply in peak weeks. Ages 5 and up with their own ticket; 5–17 with an adult. Light dress code: no swimwear or flip-flops.

Insider tipPrices swing hard by season here - peak-summer weeks can nearly double a shoulder-date ticket, so if your trip is flexible, compare a few weeks in the calendar before locking the date.

Frequently asked questions

Is Awakening closing?

Yes. Wynn announced on August 21, 2026 that the final performance is October 10, 2026, and a new production takes over the theater in 2027. Tickets for the remaining dates are still on sale, and Wynn's own page now bills the run as “Final performances, now through October 10.”

What nights does Awakening run?

Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday at 6:30 and 9 p.m., plus Sunday at 4 and 7 p.m. The theater is dark Wednesday and Thursday, and the last date on the calendar is October 10, 2026.

Is it too intense for kids or sensitive viewers?

Wynn's own advisory lists pyrotechnics, strobe and dynamic lighting, theatrical smoke and heightened audio. Kids 5+ are admitted (5–17 with an adult), but anyone sensitive to flashing lights or loud hits should sit higher and further back - or pick a gentler show.

Where are the best seats in the round?

The room wraps 360° around the stage, so there's no “front,” and nothing is far away. Mid-height rows read the floor transformations and drone work best; accessible seating sits in the last row of each section.

Can I take photos?

Phones only, non-flash, and brief clips at most - no professional cameras. Flash or long recording gets you a fast usher visit.

Is there a dress code?

A light one: no swimsuits, no flip-flops. Standard casual is fine - it's a Wynn room, so most guests dress a notch up anyway.
