What is playing at the Sphere right now?
1 answer
As of mid-October 2026: Metallica's residency on Thursdays and Saturdays through November 7, and The Wizard of Oz at Sphere, the immersive film, most days of the week. The Eagles and the Backstreet Boys follow later in the fall.
Now
- Metallica, Life Burns Faster: October 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, 31, then November 5, 7, all at 8:30 p.m. The two shows of each weekend share no songs. Standard seats sold out at the on-sale, so what remains is packages and resale. The run pauses after November 7 and returns January 28 to March 13, 2027.
- The Wizard of Oz at Sphere: the 1939 film reworked to fill the dome in 16K, with wind, scent and seat effects. About 75 minutes plus the Atrium beforehand, most days of the week, with dates on sale through May 31, 2027.
Coming up
- The Eagles: November 13, 14, 27, 28; December 4, 5, 11, 12; January 15, 16, 22, 23
- Backstreet Boys: the F1 Afterparty on November 21 (sold only as an add-on to a race ticket), then December 26, 27, a 10 p.m. New Year's Eve show, and January 1, 2
- Carín León: booked back for September 16 to 18, 2027
Gone for now: Postcard from Earth, the original Sphere film, ended in August 2025 with no return date, and the next original feature, From the Edge, has no premiere date yet.
Sphere is a venue, not a hotel, and the outside is free to watch from Sands Avenue. The live calendar is on our Sphere page, headliners across town in residencies, ticket mechanics in Sphere tickets.
