Is “O” Worth It? Honest Review, Tickets & Seating Tips

“O” is Cirque du Soleil's aquatic flagship, staged since 1998 in a Bellagio theater built around a 1.5-million-gallon pool. The stage floor rises and vanishes beneath the performers mid-act, so synchronized swimmers, divers and aerialists trade places with a fluidity no touring production can copy - it remains the show the other Vegas Cirques are measured against.

It is also the priciest of them: listed seats start around $125 and premium categories push past $300, so bargain-night math does not apply here. Center seats a few rows up read the pool's depth best, while the far side sections flatten the picture - they are the wrong place to save money. The show runs 90 minutes without intermission, Wednesday through Sunday at 6:30 and 9 PM (dark Monday and Tuesday), and the theater empties slowly, so don't book a tight dinner afterward. Ages 5 and up; cameras and anything bigger than a small purse are turned away at the door.

Insider tipBuy center sections a few rows up - from the far sides the pool reads as a flat sheet and you lose the depth that justifies the price. And plan a loose evening: the theater empties slowly, so a dinner reservation 15 minutes after curtain-fall is asking for stress.

Frequently asked questions

What days does “O” run?

Wednesday through Sunday at 6:30 and 9 PM, dark Monday and Tuesday, with occasional holiday matinees - check the calendar for your exact week rather than assuming.

Which seats are worth it?

Center sections a few rows above the pool level - the water work reads in three dimensions from there. The extreme side sections flatten the whole effect and are the last place to economize; the first rows sit in light spray range.

Can I bring a camera or a backpack?

No - cameras and recording devices are strictly prohibited, and bags bigger than a small purse (roughly 9×5×2 inches) don't get in. Travel light; there is no bag check at the theater.

Is “O” okay for kids?

The minimum age is 5, and the show is visually gentle - but long dark stretches and sudden loud passages can rattle younger kids. Mystère is the easier first Cirque for a family.

Parking and arrival at Bellagio?

Bellagio self-parking runs $20–25 a day, valet $40. The O Theatre sits off the lobby near the Conservatory; arrive about 30 minutes early - seating is slow, and so is the exit afterward.
