Is Colin Cloud: Mastermind Worth It? Honest Review & Tips

Colin Cloud reads rooms for a living — the Scottish “forensic mind reader,” an America's Got Talent finalist who spent five years as the deduction half of Shin Lim's Limitless, now runs his own residency at Harrah's Cabaret. Mastermind is deduction theater rather than illusion: he extracts names, memories and decisions from volunteers with Sherlock-style inference, and the show is built almost entirely on the audience in the seats that night.

That construction is the honest caveat: participation isn't optional garnish here — volunteers carry whole segments, and sitting visible means you're in the pool. The 6 PM curtain is unusually early (a gift for double-feature nights), it runs about 90 minutes, and it goes dark Sundays plus select Mondays. Tickets from about $48; ages 10+. If you want boxes and levitations, this isn't that — if you want to leave arguing about how he possibly knew, it is.

Insider tipUse the 6 PM start: pair Mastermind with a 9 PM headliner and you've built two shows into one evening — something almost no other Strip curtain allows. Seat strategy is participation strategy: center-forward volunteers, back corners spectate.

Frequently asked questions

Is this magic or mind reading?

Mind reading — deduction, inference and psychological technique in the Sherlock tradition, not props or illusions. If your benchmark is sawing assistants in half, recalibrate; the payoff here is walking out unable to explain what happened.

Will I be pulled on stage?

If you sit visible, you're in the candidate pool — volunteers drive most of the show. Want in? Sit central and forward, make eye contact. Want out? The back corners exist for a reason, though nowhere is contractually safe.

What time does it start?

6 PM — one of the earliest curtains on the Strip, and quietly its best feature: you're out by 7:30 with time for dinner and a second show. Dark Sundays and select Mondays.

Where is it and what's parking like?

Harrah's Cabaret, center-Strip, with the monorail station behind the hotel. Self-parking $20 a day with in-and-out across Caesars garages; Nevada residents get three hours free.

Is it suitable for kids?

Ages 10 and up — the material is clean but the show demands sustained attention and the fun is cerebral; teens who like puzzles do great, younger kids drift.
