Is Dig This Worth It? What You Actually Get in the Cab

Dig This hands complete beginners the controls of genuine full-size construction machines in a giant dirt lot. After a safety orientation you climb into the cab - one seat per machine - and an instructor talks you through every move over a headset while you dig trenches, build mounds, stack giant tires, and shoot baskets with an excavator bucket. The coaching is the quiet star here: within minutes, people who've never touched hydraulics are making clean, confident passes.

The flagship 90-minute Big Dig puts you on a full-size excavator or bulldozer, the 45-minute Aggression Session trades digging technique for pure destruction, and Kids Digs start startlingly young on a 1-ton mini excavator. Price follows machine size: the $27.50 headline is that kids' mini-dig, a 15-minute turn for ages 2 and up, while the full-size sessions run $195 to $429 and the Aggression Session is $799. It's a genuine one-of-a-kind, but go in clear-eyed: the lot sits in the far south valley, a real drive from the Strip; per minute of seat time it's one of the priciest activities in town; and it's strictly solo in the cab, so your crew spends the session in the spectator zone.

Insider tipIn summer, take the earliest session of the day. The cabs are air-conditioned, but orientation and spectating both happen out in an open dirt lot with no shade to speak of.

Frequently asked questions

Can you really crush a car at Dig This?

Yes - the Aggression Session is built around destruction rather than digging technique, and the car crush is its centerpiece. If you want both, the 3.5-hour Full Throttle combo stacks the excavator and bulldozer Big Digs on top of an Aggression Session.

Is Dig This doable in the summer heat?

Seat time is comfortable year-round because the cabs are enclosed and climate-controlled. Everything outside the cab - orientation, walking the lot, the spectator zones - is open dirt, so summer visitors should bring water, hats, and sunscreen for anyone watching.

Can a friend ride along in the machine?

Adult machines are strictly one operator per cab, so companions watch from dedicated spectator zones. The exception is small children: kids under 48 inches tall get an adult co-pilot in the cab to help them reach the controls, and kids over 48 inches operate on their own.

What if you need to cancel or reschedule?

Dig This asks for at least 24 hours' notice, which lets you reschedule freely. Inside 24 hours you're offered a rebooking, a gift certificate valid for a year, or a 50% refund. If you book through a reseller, its policy applies instead.

Do you need a driver's license or any experience?

Neither. There's no license requirement, and the format assumes you've never touched heavy equipment in your life. The per-machine minimum ages are the only hard gate.
