Escape IT

Escape IT

A Warner Bros.–licensed horror complex downtown where live actors and animatronics stalk you through two multi-room escapes drawn from both IT films.

Is Escape IT Worth It? What Pennywise's Vegas Lair Actually Delivers

Escape IT is the officially licensed Warner Bros. take on Stephen King's IT, built by Egan Escape Productions into a 30,000-square-foot standalone building downtown. Inside are two multi-room experiences: The Sewers tracks IT Chapter One through Neibolt House, Hanlon Farms, and the tunnels under Derry, while The Funhouse covers Chapter Two with the Losers' Clubhouse, the Jade of the Orient, and the Derry Canal Days carnival. More than 20 rooms in all, worked by live actors and animatronics, with carnival-style midway games and an IT merchandise store rounding out the building.

Set expectations correctly: this is horror theater with puzzles attached, not a brain-burner, and seasoned escape-room players will find the solving light. What it does better than anywhere else in Vegas is production — the sets are film-quality, the actors commit, and the pacing builds real dread over each run. It's loud, dark, and foggy with strobe effects throughout, which is the whole point for horror fans and a hard pass for claustrophobes. Pennywise devotees should go without hesitation; puzzle purists should pick a conventional room instead.

Insider tipParties of four or more can book the private VIP session — otherwise general admission fills to 10 and pairs smaller groups with strangers in the dark.

Frequently asked questions

Is Escape IT a real escape room or a haunted house?

It's a hybrid that leans haunted attraction. You solve puzzles to move between rooms, but game guides keep every group progressing, so nobody gets genuinely stuck. Treat it as an interactive horror film you walk through rather than a test of logic.

Which experience should I pick — The Sewers or The Funhouse?

Start with The Sewers if you're only doing one: it follows the first film, so the story lands in order. The combo ticket runs both back-to-back at a discount over booking each separately.

What happens if I'm late for my Escape IT reservation?

More than 5 minutes past your reserved time and you won't be admitted — and the no-refund policy still applies. Build in a buffer for the drive; the entrance and on-site parking lot are off S. MLK Blvd.

Is Escape IT worth it if I haven't seen the IT movies?

Mostly yes — the sets and scares stand on their own as a top-tier haunted walkthrough. Fans get extra recognition value from rooms like Neibolt House, and the on-site store stocks exclusive IT merchandise you won't find elsewhere.

How far is Escape IT from the Strip?

It sits downtown near Symphony Park in its own building — a short drive or rideshare from either Fremont Street or the north Strip, but not walkable from either. If you're driving, parking is on site.
