Grapevine Canyon

Grapevine Canyon is one of the Las Vegas region's lesser-known treasures, a spring-fed desert gorge near Laughlin at the foot of sacred Spirit Mountain. A gentle one-mile trail leads to the canyon mouth, where the rock walls are covered in hundreds of ancient petroglyphs left by Indigenous peoples over centuries.

The spring keeps a ribbon of greenery alive in the arid landscape, and the rock art is remarkably dense and well preserved. It's a peaceful, free alternative to the bigger parks — go early to beat the heat and wear sturdy shoes for the rocky ground.
