Is the Hollywood Cars Museum Worth It? Movie Props, Mirror Tiles, and Warehouse Kitsch

The Hollywood Cars Museum fills a 30,000-square-foot warehouse inside the Hot Rod City complex on Dean Martin Drive, just west of I-15 from the mid-Strip resorts. Developer Michael Dezer stocked it with more than 100 film and TV vehicles, much of the floor built or collected by veteran movie-car fabricator Jay Ohrberg: a Back to the Future DeLorean, a Batmobile, Herbie the Love Bug, a pack of Fast & Furious machines, and a 40-foot pink convertible limousine with a hot tub in the back.

The room to seek out is the Liberace Garage, run in partnership with the Liberace Foundation. It gathers the showman's own vehicles — the crystal-encrusted roadster from his final Radio City Music Hall run in 1986, the London taxi he drove around Palm Springs, and the limousine that appeared in HBO's Behind the Candelabra — alongside his stage memorabilia. Keep expectations calibrated on the movie side: this is an industrial park, not a polished gallery, and not every car is screen-used. It's earnest, slightly dusty fun rather than a headline attraction, and that's most of the charm.

Is the Liberace Garage the same as the old Liberace Museum?

No — the original Liberace Museum on East Tropicana closed in 2010. Since 2016 the Liberace Foundation has kept part of that collection here instead, and your museum ticket covers it; beyond the cars you'll find artifacts down to his bow ties, stage shoes, and dressing-room door.

Are the movie cars at the Hollywood Cars Museum originals?

Mixed. Jay Ohrberg's shop built vehicles for studios and promotional tours, so part of the floor is screen-used and part is the builder's own replicas or promo twins. Ask at the desk if provenance matters to you — the placards often don't say.

Can you pay by card at the Hollywood Cars Museum?

Not at the ticket counter. There's an ATM on the premises if you arrive cardless, or you can prepay online by card through an attraction pass — Go City's Las Vegas passes include entry.

How do you get to the Hollywood Cars Museum from the Strip?

Take a rideshare or drive — no transit route is practical. It sits in an industrial strip west of I-15; watch for the Hot Rod City signage, head for suite 905, and park in the lot directly outside if you're driving.

Can you take photos inside the museum?

Yes, and it's half the appeal — most cars sit in the open with few ropes or barriers. Skip the flash in the Liberace Garage, though: it blows out the mirrored and crystal-covered surfaces, and the room shoots better in its ambient light.
