Gold and Silver Pawn Shop

The real pawn shop from TV's Pawn Stars is free to walk into — a small working store where the famous counter is real and the famous faces usually aren't.

Is the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop Worth Visiting? An Honest Look

The Gold & Silver Pawn Shop is the real store behind History's Pawn Stars, filming here since 2009, and walking in is free — so is the parking lot. It sits at 713 Las Vegas Boulevard South, roughly a mile south of Fremont Street on the stretch between downtown and the Strip. Inside, the cases mix genuine pawn inventory — jewelry, coins, watches, sports memorabilia — with pieces that appeared on the show and a long wall of branded merchandise. The counter you see on TV is the counter you stand at, which is exactly why tour buses roll in all day and a midday line out the door is routine.

Temper expectations on two fronts. It's a working pawn shop of modest size, so browsing goes quickly, you can't photograph toward the pawn counter, and video is banned inside. And Rick, Corey, and Chumlee are rarely on the floor — appearances are unscheduled, partly because Nevada privacy law protects customers pawning their belongings. The shop sells a separate guaranteed meet-and-greet if a photo with Rick or Chumlee is the goal; otherwise your best free odds are next door at Pawn Plaza.

Insider tipBe there at the 10 AM opening — tour buses land from late morning and the line can stretch out the door by midday, while early birds walk straight in and get the display cases to themselves.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop free to visit?

Yes — entry and parking cost nothing, and there's no ticket or timed entry; you pay only if you buy something. It's one of the few working TV filming locations anywhere that you can simply wander into.

Will the Pawn Stars cast be there when I visit?

Assume no — floor appearances are rare and never announced. If a guaranteed photo matters, the shop runs its own paid meet-and-greet with Rick or Chumlee, and slots book out well ahead (in July 2026 it was already selling August and September dates). Tour operator Annie Bananie also runs walk-up meet-and-greets at the shop on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Can I pawn or sell my own stuff there like on TV?

Yes — it's a fully licensed working pawn shop, and the pawn window runs 24 hours a day. Just don't expect a TV expert to appraise your item; everyday deals are handled by regular staff.

Is there a tour that includes the pawn shop?

Yes — the Pawn Stars VIP Tour pairs it with Count's Kustoms, Shelby American, and the Toy Shack in a guided four-hour loop. Worth it if you want all the filming locations in one trip; unnecessary if the pawn shop is your only target, since that part is free.

How much time should I plan for the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop?

Less than you'd think — it's one showroom, and once you've circled the cases and the merch wall you're done. The line outside often takes longer than the visit, so pair it with Fremont Street a mile north or Pawn Plaza next door to justify the trip.
