TAO

TAO has been running since 2005, which makes it the great survivor of Strip nightlife — a 10,000-square-foot, multi-level room above the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian, still pulling top-tier revenue twenty years in and holding the Review-Journal's Best Nightclub gold from 2024. The look is the famous 'Asian city' build-out: three bars, private sky boxes, a 40-foot outdoor terrace, and the koi-and-Buddha theatrics the brand was built on.

The sound is hip-hop first, open format second — this was never an EDM room. Worship Thursdays is the signature night and the one locals actually go to, with a resident bench of DJ Sourmilk, Justin Credible, Beatbreaker, and DJ Bamboozle; Friday and Saturday run open-format headliners like Greg Lopez, E-Rock, and Franzen for the tourist wave.

Twenty years shows: production and decor feel dated next to Zouk or LIV, the walk through the Shoppes is long, and the dance-floor 'moat' tables are famously cramped. But the ladies' guest-list deal — free entry plus open bar until 11pm — is still one of the best standing offers on the Strip, and the terrace over the Boulevard has aged better than the interior.
