The city does not close. December 25, 2026 is a Friday and an ordinary operating day on the Strip: casinos run around the clock and most restaurants serve. The malls, a few light shows and some shows take the day off.

Open

  • Casinos, around the clock
  • Most restaurants. Last year's Christmas menus ran from a $17.95 three-course turkey dinner at a 24-hour locals' cafe to $69.95 prime-rib menus at the Caesars steakhouses and a $350 tasting at the top; buffets about $35 to $80.
  • The Neon Museum, and the Mob Museum on shortened hours
  • All the free displays: the Bellagio Conservatory's holiday room (24 hours), the Venetian's 65-foot tree, Wynn's atriums, the fountains on holiday music and the Fremont canopy shows

Closed

  • The malls: Fashion Show, the outlets and most casino shopping arcades close or shorten the day
  • Ethel M's light garden and the Magical Forest
  • Hoover Dam's visitor center and tours
  • Some shows on December 24 and 25. The test is the box office: if a show sells no December 25 tickets it is dark, and if it sells them it plays. The Rat Pack Is Back at the Tuscany has historically played Christmas Day.

Two traps

  • The Feast of the Seven Fishes menus at the Italian rooms are a December 24 event; showing up on the 25th expecting one is a classic miss.
  • Christmas dinner books out weeks ahead. Reserve by mid-December.

Weather is about 57°F by day and near freezing at night. December 24 to 27 prices like a holiday weekend, then rates climb daily toward New Year's. The full season, lights to ice rinks, is in Christmas in Las Vegas.
