Is PWHL Las Vegas Worth It? The First Season of Women's Pro Hockey on the Strip, Honestly
Professional women's hockey arrives on the Strip on Sunday, December 6, 2026, when PWHL Las Vegas plays its first home game at T-Mobile Arena against PWHL Detroit at 5 p.m. Both clubs are expansion teams, so it's a debut on each bench. Las Vegas was announced on May 13, 2026 as one of four new franchises, alongside Detroit, Hamilton and San Jose, which take the Professional Women's Hockey League to 12 teams for its fourth season. The name is a placeholder until a permanent identity is chosen; the colors are green and gold. Dominique DiDia is the general manager and Kim Weiss the head coach.
The 30-game regular season runs from December to April, with 13 home dates. Twelve are at T-Mobile Arena: December 6 (Detroit), 10 (Minnesota), 26 (Boston) and 29 (New York); January 10 (Ottawa), 21 (Hamilton), 24 (Toronto) and 27 (San Jose); February 11 (Seattle), 19 (Vancouver) and 23 (Montreal); and April 7 (San Jose). Most start at 7 p.m.; the weekend games run earlier, from 1 p.m. on January 24 to 5 p.m. on opening night. The home finale, April 13 against Detroit, moves to Lee's Family Forum in Henderson, the Silver Knights' rink. Two more home-designated games fall on the league's Takeover Tour at sites not yet named. The league says dates and times are subject to change.
Single-game tickets went on sale October 9, 2026 through the team's ticketing partner, with flex packs and season memberships alongside; the team publishes no price list, and the Henderson finale wasn't on sale yet when we checked. Every game streams free on the league's YouTube channel, and the December 26 Boston game is on ION in the US. The downsides are real. The league is three seasons old and the team has never played, so there's no track record for the product in this market. T-Mobile Arena seats about 17,500 for hockey, and a first-year women's team may not fill it; that can mean easy seats, or a quiet bowl on a Tuesday night. The Golden Knights share the building, so the sports listings are worth a look for a double-header trip.
Insider tipCheck the Golden Knights schedule before you book: they share T-Mobile Arena, and the PWHL's Sunday afternoon games on January 10 and 24 leave the evening free for another event on the Strip.
