The Dream Racing Driving Experience puts visitors behind the wheel of an exotic supercar on the 1.2-mile infield road course at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, roughly 15 miles north of the Strip. The fleet runs to more than 38 supercars and GT race cars, rotating through Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Porsche, Mercedes-AMG, Aston Martin, Audi, Corvette, Nissan GT-R and Lotus, so the exact car on any given day varies. Everyone drives a real track, not a parking-lot course.

The visit runs about an hour and a half to two hours and includes check-in, a short theory class on racing lines, and a simulator warm-up before the on-track laps. A professional instructor rides shotgun and coaches the whole drive, and a racing suit and helmet are provided. Drivers must be at least 16 with a valid license; a ride-along option is available for passengers as young as 12.

The honest catch is that the headline price buys only a short run of laps, so serious seat time costs considerably more, and the speedway is well off the Strip even with the free shuttle. Closed-toe shoes are mandatory and under-18s need a signed waiver. For genuine car enthusiasts it is a legitimate bucket-list thrill; casual visitors may find the price-per-lap steep for how brief the actual driving is.

Where is Dream Racing and how far is it from the Strip?

It is at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, about 15 miles north of the Strip. A free round-trip shuttle collects guests from the valet at The Shops at Crystals 30 minutes before their session, though you have to reserve that seat by 4pm the previous day. Driving yourself takes roughly 25 minutes.

Do I need a driver's license to drive?

Yes. Drivers must hold a valid license and be at least 16; international licenses are accepted if current. Anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian to sign a liability waiver on the day.

Can passengers ride along without driving?

Yes. A ride-along seat is two laps with a professional driver at the wheel, minimum age 12, reaching about 110 mph. It suits nervous or younger guests who still want the speed, but it does not include shuttle service from the Strip.

How many laps do you actually drive?

The entry supercar package is five laps, and longer 7, 10 and 15-lap runs cost more. Most of the two-hour visit is check-in, the theory class, the simulator and gearing up, so the on-track portion is brief. You can also split your time across two different cars.

What should I wear?

Closed-toe shoes are mandatory - sneakers are ideal, and heels, sandals and flip-flops are turned away. Comfortable clothing works; the racing suit and helmet go on over it and are provided.
