The Hidden Valley RZR Tour is a small-group, off-road driving trip into the Mojave Desert southwest of Las Vegas. After a complimentary hotel pickup and a short shuttle to a staging area at Jean, Nevada, riders get a hands-on safety briefing and then take the wheel of their own Polaris RZR 1000 side-by-side, following a lead guide along the trail.

The route covers roughly two to two-and-a-half hours of driving through desert washes, dry lake bed, rocky terrain and mountain overlooks in the McCullough Range and historic Hidden Valley, with distance varying from about 20 to 50 miles depending on how the group handles it. The RZRs are automatic and seat one or two people, so no prior off-road experience is needed; helmet and goggles are provided, drivers must be 16 or older, and passengers 12 or older. Groups are capped at ten travelers.

It is dusty and bumpy by design, which is the point, but know the shape of the day: the full outing runs four to five hours with a good chunk spent shuttling to and from the trailhead, and pickup is limited to the Luxor and South Point only, so guests at other hotels have to get there first. There is no meal, and summer midday heat in the desert is severe. For active travelers who would rather drive a side-by-side than ride along in a jeep, it is a genuine, hands-on thrill.

Do I need off-road experience to drive?

No. Guides give a hands-on orientation and lead the whole route at a controllable pace, so first-timers can drive. The RZRs are automatic, so there is no clutch or shifting to manage.

Why do I see this tour under several different names?

The same run is marketed as the Hidden Valley RZR tour and as the Hidden Valley and Primm RZR adventure, sometimes with Extreme or Ultimate attached. The shape is consistent: pickup at the Luxor or South Point, a shuttle to Jean, two to two-and-a-half hours at the wheel and four to five hours door to door. Primm in these names refers to the desert valley, not the resort complex there, which closed permanently in July 2026 and is not a stop.

Can two people share one RZR?

The Polaris RZRs seat up to two, so a driver and a passenger can ride together, and adults can swap the driver's seat at stops. Solo drivers are welcome too, and the passenger has to be at least 12.

What should I wear and bring?

Beyond closed-toe shoes and dusty-day clothes, a bandana or neck gaiter helps against fine trail dust, and a strap for sunglasses keeps them on over the bumps. Bring water; the desert air is dry even in cooler months.

When is the best time of year to go?

Spring and fall are the most comfortable. Summer mornings are bearable but midday desert heat here regularly tops 100°F, so book the earliest slot; rare high wind or rain can also affect departures.
