The Grand Canyon West Rim & Helicopter 6 in 1 is a full-day trip from Las Vegas that bundles a ground tour of the West Rim with a helicopter flight to the canyon floor. Run by Adventure Photo Tours, it packs six experiences into a single day: a Hoover Dam photo stop, the 900-year-old Joshua Tree forest, Eagle Point and the Skywalk, Guano Point, Native American dwellings and gift shops, and the helicopter leg.

Guests ride out by SUV, van or mini-coach and spend roughly four hours at Grand Canyon West, the flight included in that window. The EC-130 helicopter drops over the rim to the bottom of the canyon before climbing back 4,000 feet to the viewpoints, an angle no ground tour can match. Breakfast snacks, lunch, bottled water and more snacks are included. Stepping out onto the cantilevered Skywalk, which juts 70 feet past the rim, costs extra and is paid on site.

It is a long day: pickups start around 7am and it can be past 5:30pm before you are back, and much of that is transit. Is the Skywalk included in the 6-in-1 tour?

No. Admission to the glass bridge is a separate fee paid on site, even though Eagle Point itself is part of the tour. Budget for it if the walk-out is on your list.

How long is the helicopter flight?

The operator does not publish a set flight time. What it does commit to is about four hours at Grand Canyon West with the flight inside that window, dropping over the rim to the canyon bottom and climbing back to the viewpoints.

How is this different from the basic West Rim bus tour?

Adding the helicopter flight is the whole difference, and it is what justifies the higher price. Without it you stay at rim level all day, which the coach tours do for a fraction of the money.
