The narrated flight crosses Boulder City, the Hoover Dam, Lake Mead and the volcanic Black Mountains on the way to the West Rim. The signature moment is a roughly 3,200-foot descent to land on a remote plateau near the Colorado River, deep inside the canyon, where a Hualapai host sets out Champagne and a light picnic. You get about 30 minutes on the ground to walk around and take photos before flying back — something the cheaper fly-over tours simply can't offer.
