Sling Shot at Circus Circus

Is the Sling Shot at Circus Circus Worth It? Ride Review

The Sling Shot is the Adventuredome's vertical launch tower at Circus Circus — a Chance Morgan ride running since 2004 that fires seated riders about 100 feet up the tower at roughly 4 Gs, then drops and bounces them back down. The whole thrill is the launch: your stomach registers the acceleration before your eyes catch up, and it's over in well under a minute. Like everything under the pink dome, it's indoors and air-conditioned, running year-round regardless of the weather.

Budget around the reality that this is one short ride inside a pay-to-ride park. Entry to the Adventuredome is free, but riding takes the all-day Unlimited Ride Pass — $60 adult, $30 junior, and the Sling Shot is included (unlike the separately-priced mini golf, VR and laser maze) — or a single-ride ticket sold in person. The 48-inch height minimum matches the adult-pass threshold. Worth it as one hit among the dome's two coasters and twenty-odd rides; overkill as the sole reason to visit.

Insider tipRide it first thing after the park opens — the launch tower draws the longest lines of the dome by mid-afternoon, and a fresh stomach handles 4 Gs better than one full of midway food.

Frequently asked questions

How high does the Sling Shot at Circus Circus go?

About 100 feet up an indoor tower, launched at roughly 4 Gs — the acceleration, not the height, is what gets people.

Is the Sling Shot included in the Adventuredome pass?

Yes — it's covered by the all-day Unlimited Ride Pass ($60 adult, $30 junior). The pass excludes only the Featured Attractions (Neon Putts mini golf, Twisted VR, Xtreme Zone, Laser Maze); the Sling Shot isn't one of them.

What is the height requirement?

48 inches (4 feet) minimum, no maximum age — the same threshold as the adult wristband.

Is the Sling Shot a roller coaster?

No — it's a vertical launch and drop tower built by Chance Morgan, opened in 2004. The Adventuredome's actual coasters are the Canyon Blaster and El Loco, and the same wristband covers all three.

Is it indoors?

Yes — inside the climate-controlled Adventuredome at Circus Circus, so it runs year-round no matter how hot the Strip gets.

How much does it cost to ride the Sling Shot?

There's no Sling-Shot-only online ticket. It's included in the $60 all-day pass, or you can buy a cheaper single-ride ticket at the park counter — the honest move if this launch is the only thing on your list.
