Sling Shot at Circus Circus

Is the Sling Shot at Circus Circus Worth It? Ride Review

The Sling Shot is the Adventuredome's vertical launch tower at Circus Circus - a Chance Morgan ride running since May 2004 that fires seated riders about 100 feet up the tower, then drops and bounces them back down. The whole thrill is the launch: your stomach registers the acceleration before your eyes catch up, and it's over in well under a minute. Like everything under the pink dome, it's indoors and air-conditioned, running year-round regardless of the weather.

Budget around the reality that this is one short ride inside a pay-to-ride park. Entry to the Adventuredome is free, but riding takes the all-day Unlimited Ride Pass: $60 adult, $30 junior for riders under 48 inches, checked September 3, 2026. The Sling Shot is included, unlike the separately-charged mini golf, VR room, climbing wall and laser games. Its 48-inch height minimum matches the adult-pass threshold. Worth it as one hit among the dome's two coasters and dozen rides; overkill as the sole reason to visit, especially midweek when the park only runs noon to 7 PM.

Insider tipRide it first thing after the park opens, 10 AM Friday through Sunday or noon midweek. The launch tower draws long lines by mid-afternoon, and a fresh stomach handles the shot better than one full of midway food.

Frequently asked questions

How high does the Sling Shot at Circus Circus go?

About 100 feet up an indoor tower on a vertical launch. The acceleration, not the height, is what gets people.

Is the Sling Shot included in the Adventuredome pass?

Yes - the all-day Unlimited Ride Pass covers it. What the pass leaves out are the separately-charged side attractions: Pirates Bounty mini golf, the VR room, the Xtreme Zone climbing wall and the laser games.

What is the height requirement?

48 inches (4 feet) minimum, no maximum age, which is the same threshold that separates the adult wristband from the junior one.

Is the Sling Shot a roller coaster?

Not a coaster. It's a vertical launch and drop tower built by Chance Morgan, opened in 2004; the Adventuredome's actual coasters are Canyon Blaster and El Loco, and one wristband covers all three.

Is it indoors?

Entirely, inside the climate-controlled Adventuredome at Circus Circus, so it runs year-round no matter how hot the Strip gets.

How much does it cost to ride the Sling Shot?

There's no Sling-Shot-only ticket. The Adventuredome sells one all-day unlimited wristband, $60 adult and $30 junior as of September 3, 2026, and the launch tower is included in it.
