Minus5 Ice Bar & Experience - Venetian

Minus5 Ice Experience is the frozen-room novelty inside the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian. Everything in the room is carved from more than 90 tons of ice — walls, bar, couches, a rotating cast of sculptures, even the glass your drink arrives in. The house keeps it at a constant 23°F, which is the minus five in the name, and hands you a parka and gloves at the door, so nobody has to plan an outfit around it.

It's a stunt, and a well-executed one — the sculpture work is genuinely detailed, and stepping out of 105°F sidewalk heat into a freezer has real comic value in summer. Know what you're buying, though: this is a half-hour novelty with steady upsells layered on top, from coat upgrades to photo packages. Go once, laugh, hold the ice glass with both hands, and don't build an evening around it.
