Is Zero Latency VR at MGM Grand Worth It? Review

Zero Latency runs the Strip's biggest free-roam VR arena inside the Level Up gaming lounge at the MGM Grand. Up to eight players share a 2,000-square-foot arena wearing wireless headsets and backpack PCs — no cables, no rails — and walk, dodge and shoot through one shared game world per session: zombie survival, sci-fi shooters, a puzzle world, or the competitive Sol Raiders, with the exact lineup rotating (pick your title at booking). A session is $50 per person for about 30 minutes of play.

Be clear-eyed about the math and the rules. With the waiver, briefing and gear-up, that 30 minutes of play fills 45 to 60 minutes of clock — and the experience is built for groups; going solo loses the point. It's ages 13-plus, under-18s need an adult along, and after 9:30 PM it's 21-plus. Sessions cap at eight and can sell out, midweek slots can be thin, and free-roam VR does trigger motion sickness in a minority of players. Book a timed slot online rather than gambling on a walk-up.

Insider tipBook the earliest slot of the day — gear is freshly sanitized, staff runs on schedule, and you'll be out before the casino floor between you and the exit gets interesting.

Frequently asked questions

How much is Zero Latency at MGM Grand?

$50 per person for one free-roam session of roughly 30 minutes, with up to eight players sharing the arena. Book online — sessions are timed and can sell out.

How long does a session actually take?

About 30 minutes of gameplay, but 45 to 60 minutes door to door once the waiver, safety briefing and gear fitting are done — worth knowing if you're squeezing it between shows.

What's the age requirement?

13 and up. Players under 18 need an accompanying adult, and after 9:30 PM the venue goes 21-plus.

Where is Zero Latency inside the MGM Grand?

In the Level Up gaming lounge at 3799 S Las Vegas Blvd — walk in from the Strip entrance through the casino floor. Not at the Garden Arena, despite what some listings say.

What games can you play?

The free-roam lineup rotates — zombie survival, sci-fi and space shooters, a puzzle-adventure world and the player-versus-player Sol Raiders have all run here. You pick one world per session when booking, so confirm the current titles then.

Does free-roam VR cause motion sickness?

Less than seated VR — walking on your own legs helps your inner ear agree with your eyes — but a minority of players still feel it. First-timers should pick a slower title over a shooter with elevators and drops.
