Are the Henderson Silver Knights Worth It? AHL Hockey 20 Minutes From the Strip, Honestly
The Henderson Silver Knights are the Vegas Golden Knights' AHL affiliate, the top farm team, and they play 36 home games a season at Lee's Family Forum, 200 S Green Valley Pkwy in Henderson, a 5,500-seat arena that opened in March 2022 with a Modern Medieval theme. The 2026-27 season opened at home on October 3 and 4 against Bakersfield; the next home game is Wednesday, October 14 at 7 p.m. against the Coachella Valley Firebirds, and the schedule runs to April 10, 2027 with weeknight games at 7, Saturdays at 6 and Sundays at 5. Joel Ward coaches a roster of Golden Knights prospects. The franchise dates from 2020, when the NHL club bought the San Antonio Rampage and moved it to Henderson; it played at Orleans Arena until the new building opened.
Single-game tickets are sold through the team's ticketing partner and no price list is published on the team's site; third-party listings are resale. Parking is $12 prepaid or $15 at the gate plus fees in four lots off Green Valley Parkway and Paseo Verde, and the arena is cashless; cars left at The District shopping center next door get towed. Theme nights this season include Knightmare On Ice on October 24, HSK-Pop Knight on November 7, Hockey Fights Cancer Knight on November 14, Marvel Night on November 27 and Star Wars Knight on March 27. Practices at America First Center on Water Street in downtown Henderson are free and open to the public.
It is minor-league hockey, prospects rather than the NHL team, and Henderson is a 20-to-30-minute drive from the Strip with no transit worth using. Against that: a cheap, close, family-friendly rink night that the Golden Knights at T-Mobile cannot offer at the price.
Insider tipPrepay the $12 parking and go to a Sunday 5 p.m. game: the lots clear in minutes, the family crowd is the easiest, and the free public practices at America First Center the week before let kids see the players up close for nothing.Check Tickets & Prices →
