Rio Hotel & Casino
The Rio is an off-Strip resort in the middle of a full revival with Hyatt — revamped pools, the new Canteen Food Hall and refreshed suite-sized rooms. Bigger rooms, free self-parking and lower rates make it good value a short hop west of the Strip, from $37/night.

Is the Rio Worth It? Honest Review, Rooms & Rates
The Rio Hotel & Casino is in the middle of a major revival, working with Hyatt to refresh its rooms, pool complex, convention space and dining. The headline perk has always been the rooms: they're suite-sized — noticeably larger than a standard Strip room — which makes the Rio strong value for the space.
It sits just off the Strip on West Flamingo Road, so reaching the main action means a short rideshare — but free self-parking and lower rates are real advantages if you've got a car. Home to the Penn & Teller and Comedy Cellar theaters, it's a comfortable, good-value base, with rates from around $37 a night before fees.
Budget the roughly $37-plus-tax resort fee; parking stays free (self and valet lots), and the new Canteen Food Hall covers quick meals from ramen to cheesesteaks. The center Strip is about a mile east — five minutes by car, or a half-hour walk over the I-15 flyover that most people skip.
Insider tipBook the Rio for the space, not a skyline: those floor-to-ceiling windows face the Spring Mountains to the west, not the Strip. If a lit-up Strip view is on your wish list, it isn't the room you'll get here.Check Rates & Availability →
