Are Las Vegas resort fees charged per person or per room, and per night or per stay?
1 answer
Per room, per night. Two people pay the same fee as four, and a three-night stay pays three fees, one for each night you sleep there.
- Checkout morning: not charged.
- Tax: the 13.38% lodging tax applies to the fee too, so three nights at a $55 Strip fee is $165 before tax and about $187 after.
- Back-to-back bookings at the same hotel are charged like one continuous stay, and a mid-trip room change on one booking is still once per night.
- Comped rooms usually still carry the fee unless your loyalty tier waives it.
What can be per person is the extra-guest charge. Most Strip rooms are priced for two adults, and a third or fourth adult often triggers a separate nightly surcharge on top of the resort fee. Kids under a certain age are usually exempt, but the cut-off varies, so ask before you put four adults in a double.
Fees by property are in resort fees by hotel; what the fee covers and who gets it waived is in resort fees explained.
