Taxed, at the same rate as the room: 13.38% on the Strip and 13% inside the Las Vegas city limits, where Downtown sits. The fee you see quoted is almost always the pre-tax figure.

The Strip pays the higher rate because it is not in the city at all; the resort corridor is unincorporated Clark County.

What that does to the numbers

  • $55 Strip fee: $62.36 a night
  • $50 fee: $56.69
  • $45 fee: $51.02
  • $46 Downtown fee (Golden Nugget): about $52
  • A $160 room at a $50-fee hotel: near $238 a night all in

On the folio it shows as separate lines: room, room tax, resort fee, tax on the resort fee, then parking or incidentals. We re-verified both rates in September 2026.

Fees by hotel, with a tax-included column, are in resort fees by hotel; the other add-ons are in hidden fees in Las Vegas.
