They are next-door neighbors on the center Strip, both run by MGM Resorts. Pick Aria for a calm, high-tech room; pick The Cosmopolitan for a balcony, a view and a night out without leaving the building.

Getting between them takes a few minutes on foot through the Crystals end of CityCenter, and the free tram linking Bellagio, Aria and Park MGM stops right there. Book one and use the other's restaurants and bars freely.

Aria

  • One-touch controls for curtains, lights and temperature
  • A big modern casino that stays relatively quiet
  • Steak and sushi: Jean Georges Steakhouse, Carbone, Catch
  • Jewel nightclub, fine but lower-key

The Cosmopolitan

  • Real balconies and terraces on many rooms, which almost no other Strip hotel has
  • Fountain View rooms looking straight at the water show
  • A smaller, louder casino wrapped around the three-story Chandelier bar
  • Marquee nightclub and dayclub, and a younger crowd

Both charge the same $55 resort fee plus tax and both charge for parking. Couples who want quiet and business travelers tend to be happier at Aria. Side-by-side detail in Aria vs Cosmopolitan; hotel pages at Aria and The Cosmopolitan.
