Commonwealth
Commonwealth is Fremont East's anchor - a two-story cocktail-and-DJ bar with a neon-level rooftop, freshly redesigned in May 2026, hiding the Laundry Room speakeasy in the back. Thu-Sat; free guest list beats the cover.

Is Commonwealth Worth It? Honest Review
Commonwealth has anchored Fremont East since 2012 - a two-story, roughly 300-capacity cocktail bar that got its first full redesign in May 2026 and came out the other side still the block's center of gravity. Downstairs runs a proper dance floor with hip-hop and open-format DJs; upstairs, the ~2,000-square-foot rooftop patio puts you at neon level over Fremont Street with its own bar and its own DJ on weekends.
It runs a tight week: Thursday from 9pm, Friday and Saturday from 10pm until 4am, dark Sunday through Wednesday. Entry math favors the prepared - the free guest list (sign up online in advance) skips both the cover and the general-admission line on busy nights; without it, a door cover can apply at peak. Inside, it's craft cocktails at nightlife pace rather than a slow mixology room - for that, the hidden Laundry Room speakeasy sits behind a door at the back, on its own separate reservation.
Fair warnings: three nights a week means no spontaneous Tuesday visit, the DJ volume makes conversation a rooftop-only activity after midnight, and the patio lives and dies by the weather. As the one-stop Fremont East night - dance floor, rooftop, speakeasy - nothing else on the block stacks up as completely.
Insider tip Sign the free guest list before you go - on peak nights it's the difference between walking in and paying at the back of a line. And if you want the Laundry Room, book it separately for the early evening, then stay on for the club night.
