Discopussy

Discopussy

Discopussy is downtown's techno room - a 6,500 sq ft Fremont East warehouse club with a Void Acoustics rig and a giant LED octopus overhead. Thu-Sat from 10pm; covers $20-50 by lineup.

Is Discopussy Worth It? Honest Review

Discopussy is Fremont East's underground dance room - 6,500 square feet of warehouse-style club from Corner Bar Management, running since 2020 on a formula downtown didn't have before it: real techno and tech-house bookings on a Void Acoustics system that audiophiles cross town for, under a ceiling-mounted LED octopus named Pus, built from 10,000-plus laser-cut parts and 5,000 addressable LEDs.

It keeps club discipline: Thursday 10pm-2am, Friday-Saturday 10pm-4am, dark the rest of the week, with covers running $20-50 by lineup - sometimes applying even off the free guest list on headliner nights. The booking calendar leans genuinely underground (the kind of names that headline Berlin basements, not Strip pools), with tables and bottle service for those who want geography in a 500-cap room.

Fair math: it's a specialist's room - Top 40 refugees will bounce off it; it starts empty at 10 and peaks after midnight; seating without a table is minimal; and Fremont East logistics apply. But if your Vegas complaint has ever been 'nowhere plays actual techno,' this is the counterexample, three nights a week.

Insider tip Check the lineup before committing - the calendar swings from local residents to serious international bookings, and the door price ($20-50) tracks it. Sign the free guest list anyway, but on headliner nights expect to pay regardless; the room doesn't wake up until midnight.

Frequently asked questions

When is Discopussy open?

Thursday 10pm-2am and Friday-Saturday 10pm-4am; dark Sunday through Wednesday. Peak hours run midnight onward - arriving at 10 gets you an empty warehouse.

How much is the cover?

Roughly $20-50 depending on the night's DJ, occasionally charged even with the free guest list on big bookings. Bottle service reservations are the only guaranteed entry on sold-out nights.

What music does it play?

Underground tech-house, techno, and house - with occasional open-format nights. It is deliberately not a Top 40 or EDM-hits room; check the calendar so the night matches your taste.

What's the octopus?

'Pus' - the ceiling-mounted LED disco-octopus centerpiece, built from over 10,000 laser-cut pieces with 5,000+ addressable LEDs, animated in sync with the sets. It replaced the disco ball concept entirely.

Is there seating or food?

No food, minimal seating without a table - it's a standing dance room by design. Fremont East around it covers late-night eating after close.
