Oak & Ivy

Oak & Ivy is a whiskey bar the size of its own idea: roughly ten seats inside a shipping container at Downtown Container Park, pouring one of the city's best American-whiskey programs since 2014 — barrel-aged cocktails, deep bourbon and rye shelves, house-made ginger beer, and a patio-plus-rooftop overflow that earned Chowhound's 'best rooftop bar in Nevada' nod (Tasting Table separately crowned it the city's best whiskey bar).

The signature move is barrel time — the rye-and-fat-washed-bourbon 'Old Man Doing the Splits' headlines a list of slow, deliberate builds, with milk-washed experiments and whiskey flights alongside. These drinks take minutes, not seconds; the pace is the product. Whiskey tasting events (around $40 for four flights, two cocktails, and snacks) and Whiskey & Wine Wednesdays stand in for a conventional happy hour.

The logistics are Container Park's: free entry, all-ages grounds until 9pm, then 21-plus park-wide with ID at the gate — and the park's hours cap the night. Weekdays it opens mid-afternoon (~3pm) to 11pm; weekends run noon to 1am. Sit at the bar, name your whiskey baseline, and let the bartenders drive — in a room this size, that's the entire experience.
