What fun activities are there in Las Vegas besides shows (Topgolf, bowling, shooting ranges)?
1 answer
Plenty, mostly just off the Boulevard or at the ends of it: Topgolf behind MGM Grand, bowling at the LINQ, shooting ranges a few minutes away, the STRAT's thrill rides, ziplines downtown and the immersive rooms at AREA15.
Games
- Topgolf Las Vegas: behind MGM Grand, four levels of hitting bays priced per bay per hour. Evening slots book out on weekends.
- Bowling: Brooklyn Bowl on the LINQ Promenade, plus the big locals' alleys off the Strip such as Red Rock Lanes in Summerlin, cheap and open late.
- Pinball Hall of Fame: by the Welcome sign, free to enter, games from a quarter, cash only.
Shooting ranges
Packages start around $89 at ranges a few minutes off the Strip, one-on-one with a safety officer and often with hotel pickup. Age rules vary (some set 18, others allow younger shooters with a parent), so ask. Our listing: Machine Guns Vegas.
Heights and speed
- High Roller at the LINQ: 30 minutes, 550 feet, from $24
- The STRAT: deck $28, the Big Shot launch $36 with admission (dark Tuesday and Wednesday), SkyJump from $139.99 on weekdays
- SlotZilla under the Fremont canopy: from $49 seated, $69 face-down
- Grand Prix Plaza karting: closed for the season after October 4, while the building becomes the F1 pits
Immersive and museums
Omega Mart at AREA15 (from about $45), the Arte Museum at CityCenter ($50 to $60), the Mob Museum, the Neon Museum ($25 by day, $35 at night, timed entry) and the Atomic Museum ($29).
Outdoors
Red Rock (timed entry October to May, $20 a car), Hoover Dam, skiing at Lee Canyon in winter, kayaking below the dam by tour.
