Piff the Magic Dragon — John van der Put in the world's most committed dragon costume — has turned deadpan exasperation and legitimate card magic into one of the Flamingo's most durable residencies, playing the Flamingo Showroom with Mr. Piffles II (“the world's only magic-performing chihuahua,” now officially the second of the dynasty) and showgirl Jade Simone. The act is the anti-spectacle: dry British contempt, genuinely skilled close-up work, and a dog in matching costumes.

It runs 7 PM Monday through Thursday plus Saturday and Sunday — dark Fridays, an unusual pattern worth double-checking against your plans — for about 75 minutes, family-friendly from age 8 (the sarcasm flies over younger heads). Tickets from about $39 at face for the rear sections; the participation-heavy front rows are prime roasting territory, purchased knowingly.
