Close Company

Close Company

Close Company is the Venetian's beaded-curtain speakeasy inside Via Via food hall - from the Death & Co founders, led by Shannon Tebay, currently running the $16 'Saved by the 90s' pop-up (through Aug 2026). Walk-in friendly.

Is Close Company Worth It? Honest Review

Close Company is the Venetian's food-hall speakeasy with a serious birth certificate: created by the founders of Death & Co and run under Shannon Tebay - seven years behind the Death & Co NYC bar before becoming the Venetian's director of mixology. The entrance is a beaded door curtain at the back of the Via Via food hall; the room behind it is small, loud-ish, and deliberately looser than its pedigree - the house line calls it Death & Co's 'unbuttoned younger sister.'

The permanent concept is the speakeasy; the drink list sitting on top of it is a rotating seasonal overlay, so what you order depends on when you walk in. The current one, 'Saved by the 90s,' is advertised through August 2026 with no hard end date published, and it plays $16 nostalgia straight: Sex on the Beach, Blue Lagoon, Appletini, a Bourbon Bramble, all rebuilt with Death & Co technique under the kitsch. 'A Close Company Valentine' filled February 2026; no successor theme has been announced. A $10-cocktail promo runs through the end of 2026, which quietly makes it one of the best craft-per-dollar pours on the Strip.

Set expectations by the setting: it's inside a food hall, so ambient noise and foot traffic leak through the beads, seating is limited, and the theme changes under you between visits - that's the format, not a bug. Walk-ins work; the DB-era 'reservation-forward' reputation oversold it. Sun-Thu 4pm-midnight, Fri-Sat to 2am.

Insider tip Find the beaded curtain at the back of Via Via and just walk through - no password, no host stand outside. The $10-cocktail promo (through December 2026) is the best craft-drink math on the Strip; go before the dinner rush for an actual seat.

What's on the menu right now?

'Saved by the 90s' is the current overlay, advertised through August 2026, though the venue hasn't published a hard end date: Sex on the Beach, Blue Lagoon, Appletini, Bourbon Bramble, and a spirit-free Amaretto Sour, all $16, all rebuilt with Death & Co-grade technique. Overlays rotate seasonally; 'A Close Company Valentine' filled February 2026. No successor has been announced.

What's the Death & Co connection?

The bar comes from Death & Co's creators, and the program is led by Shannon Tebay, who spent seven years at Death & Co New York before becoming the Venetian's director of mixology. The pedigree shows in the builds, not the dress code.
